Description

Uva Mira The Mira Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a high-altitude Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc with a clear sense of place and a more measured, polished style than many overtly tropical examples. Grown in an elevated vineyard setting, it balances ripe fruit with tension and mineral drive, giving it both immediate appeal and enough structure to hold attention in the glass. This is a Sauvignon Blanc that feels purposeful rather than loud.

Aromatically, it opens with green melon, papaya, and lemongrass, followed by white florals and a faint peppery note that adds lift. The palate brings fleshy guava, passionfruit, and quince, carried by crisp acidity and a firm mineral line that keeps the fruit in check. There is good concentration here, but the wine stays focused and mouthwatering through a long, clean finish. It would be especially good with fresh seafood, summer salads, goat cheese, or herb-led chicken dishes where its brightness can really come into play.

Already highly expressive, this vintage is approachable in its youth but has the balance to develop further over the near term.
The 2024 vintage was one of the best we've experienced—cool, wet, and beautifully balanced. A cold winter with snow on the Helderberg and generous rainfall set the tone for slow, even ripening. Gentle weather during flowering and moderate temperatures during harvest gave us berries with exceptional concentration, freshness, and finesse. These ideal conditions allowed us to craft a Sauvignon Blanc that’s both vibrant and deeply expressive of our mountain vineyards.

Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is nestled against the Helderberg Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch. With breathtaking views of False Bay and Table Bay, often wrapped in clouds, a cool climate, sea breezes, a granite foundation and strong minerality of the soil, enhanced by acres of fynbos.... nature does her work. The position at altitude with vineyards as high as 620 metres above sea level creates the climate for wines that are elegant in style. Their fine wines are handcrafted using only grapes from the vineyard sites on the property, to truly express unique traits of the remarkable site. Wines of elegance, minerality and longevity.
