Elegant yet indulgent, the Uva Mira ‘The Mira’ Chardonnay 2023 is a high-altitude Stellenbosch gem that balances richness with remarkable purity. The nose opens with creamy citrus, orange blossom, and hints of white peach and nougat biscotti, all wrapped in a delicate saline lift. On the palate, layers of blood orange, almond, and naartjie zest unfold over a tight, chalky structure. A vibrant line of acidity carries the fruit to a dry, mineral-driven finish with lingering notes of peach and citrus. A refined Chardonnay that captures the essence of mountain terroir with depth, freshness, and finesse.
A cool, wet ripening season required minimal irrigation but careful canopy management to control growth and ensure even ripening. Early veraison and late harvest due to rainfall posed challenges, yet the vineyards thrived. Thanks to meticulous attention in the vineyard, the 2023 vintage yielded high-quality grapes with vibrant acidity, balanced ripeness, and exceptional flavor—perfectly suited for crafting this elegant Chardonnay.

Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is nestled against the Helderberg Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch. With breathtaking views of False Bay and Table Bay, often wrapped in clouds, a cool climate, sea breezes, a granite foundation and strong minerality of the soil, enhanced by acres of fynbos.... nature does her work. The position at altitude with vineyards as high as 620 metres above sea level creates the climate for wines that are elegant in style.
