Description

The Mira Chardonnay offers a vibrant and zesty profile, showcasing fresh citrus notes that enliven the palate. The fruit flavors are beautifully balanced with a fine, chalky structure, creating a wine that has both elegance and intensity.

With terrific length and poise, it leaves a lasting impression of lingering fruit and floral perfume, finishing with an exquisite hint of naartjie that adds a refreshing tang to the dry, clean finish. Perfect for those who appreciate a refined, fruit-forward Chardonnay with complexity.

Ratings/Accolades:
(2017) Decanter World Wine Awards: 95 Points
(2018) The Drinks Business Global Chardonnay Masters: Gold Medal
A delayed, but good, winter rainfall allowed for adequate replenishing of reserves. A cool and wet spring allowed soil profiles to become well saturated. Winter was not as cold as the previous year but there was sufficient building up of reserves.

A cool budding period was experienced with delayed bud break. Veraison occurred later and ripening was prolonged due to low day temperatures which allowed for exceptional color and flavor in the berries. A vintage showing high quality wines with good ageing potential. The wine spent 9 Months in French oak barrels, 30% new.
