Description

This 2024 Pinotage from Rickety Bridge is a vibrant expression of South Africa’s most iconic varietal. Aromas of ripe red berries, wild cherry, and hints of smoky spice lead into a plush, fruit-forward palate layered with subtle earthiness and a whisper of savory depth. Silky tannins and elegant structure give it finesse, while the smooth, lingering finish makes each sip feel effortless. Crafted with precision in Franschhoek, this Pinotage is balanced, expressive, and unmistakably South African.
We hand-harvested and gently de-stemmed the grapes, keeping whole berries to protect fruit purity. Fermentation in stainless steel with soft daily punch-downs helped extract vivid color and smooth tannins. After pressing, the wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 15% new, to enhance complexity, structure, and subtle spice while preserving the varietal’s vibrant character.
