Description

A layered, expressive white blend from South Africa’s oldest wine estate. This elegant Constantia white showcases vibrant tropical fruit—think ripe pineapple, guava, and passionfruit—lifted by zesty notes of orange peel, lemon, and lime. A portion aged in 500L French oak barrels brings a luxurious touch of toasted almond, honeycomb, and warm vanilla to the nose. The palate is fresh yet textured, with bright acidity and a smooth, lingering finish. Balanced, intense, and built to age beautifully, this is a structured white blend that overdelivers in every sip.
Hand-harvested from low-yielding, southeast-facing vineyards spanning 50–240m elevation. Cool Atlantic breezes and granitic soils shape fruit with vivid freshness. Fermented and aged in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels, this white blend matured on lees for 10 months, then bottle-aged for another year for added complexity and longevity.

Winemaker: Shannon Jacobs
Groot Constantia’s revered history tells us how a man’s love of wine established the first wine farm in South Africa. By going back 300 years, we come to understand how 891 morgen of land created the origins of the South African wine industry, and how every owner thereafter contributed to what we know as Groot Constantia today.
