Description

Capturing the soul of the Helderberg, this 2014 Waterford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon offers an elegant balance of power and finesse. Aromas of sweet cedar, cold stone, and forest earth meet vibrant notes of violet, red berries, and blackcurrant. The palate is dry and finely structured, with warm undertones and a textured, lingering finish. A refined Stellenbosch Cabernet with classical charm, it’s drinking beautifully now and will continue to evolve gracefully for up to 15 years.
The 2014 vintage gave us a long, cool winter and ideal flowering conditions, leading to one of our highest-yielding harvests to date. Despite late rains and a rapid ripening period due to February heat, the fruit came in concentrated and vibrant. Careful vineyard work and timely picking ensured balance and purity—exactly what we aim for in a classic Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker: Kevin Arnold
Waterford Estate was established in 1998 with the intention of producing the very best wines in the country. Being based on the Helderberg Mountain, in Stellenbosch, the Estate excels in producing Red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, the main two blending components in their Flagship The Jem. They chose to use only half of the total 120 hectares of their land for the planting of vines in order to preserve and protect the natural fauna and flora. The Waterford Way is a philosophy that celebrates prosperity, life, food, wine, family and friends, and guides all that they do at Waterford Estate.
