Description

Lively and elegant, this Marlborough Pinot Noir reveals seductive aromas of ripe red berries, fresh plum, and a hint of cinnamon spice. The palate is bright and expressive, with layers of juicy cherry and subtle oak spice dancing across a silky texture. Finely balanced with vibrant acidity and supple tannins, it finishes long and smooth. A refined cool-climate Pinot Noir that pairs beautifully with duck, mushroom risotto, or grilled salmon.
Each vineyard block was vinified separately to preserve its unique character. After gentle destemming, the grapes fermented in open vats with soft plunging to extract color and structure. We matured the wine in barrel for 11 months before blending. Despite mid-season rain, vigilant vineyard monitoring ensured only the best fruit made it to bottle—vibrant, balanced, and full of finesse.

Winemaker: Richelle Collier
The 1990s were a time of discovery and courage in Marlborough. Deep in the Waihopai Valley, Bryan and Jan Johnson had the audacity to establish 180 hectares of estate vineyards on land considered too hard, too dry and too unfertile for wine. It was a venture that started with a passion for the land. This pioneering spirit established one of New Zealand’s most successful family-run wineries, now exporting eight varietals to 35 countries.

Marlborough, New Zealand

A combination of a cool yet high sunshine climate, low rainfall, and free-draining, moderately fertile soil produces uniquely vivid wines. Marlborough put New Zealand on the international wine stage with its exquisite Sauvignon Blanc in the 1980s. Over 20,000ha of vines (around 2/3 of the national total) are under the care of local wine producers, making it the country's largest wine region. Marlborough wineries offer a huge range of varieties, from exquisite Pinot Noir to intense Chardonnay, and vivacious aromatics. Shop Marlborough wines online for a taste of New Zealand like no other.
