Description

Lush and expressive, this Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon delivers a symphony of dark berries and refined structure. Aromas of lavender, cedar, and vanilla lift from the glass, layered with blackcurrant and a touch of graphite. On the palate, ripe red and black cherries unfold alongside hints of espresso and dark chocolate, framed by vibrant acidity and youthful, grippy tannins. The finish is long, with a lingering note of cherry and elegant minerality. A polished, age-worthy red for collectors and Cabernet lovers alike.
Grown on north-facing slopes in warm, well-drained Tukulu soils, our Cabernet thrives in the Helderberg’s Mediterranean climate. Hand-harvested and vinified in small, open-top tanks with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs, then matured for 18 months in 100% French oak. Every step is designed to express the vineyard’s natural intensity with elegance and ageability.

Rust en Vrede Estate is located just outside Stellenbosch, nestled on the lower slopes of the impressive Helderberg Mountain, a warmer microcosm, which is why they specialize in reds, particularly Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. These cultivars lend themselves to full bodied wines with powerful structure.
