Description

Lively, layered, and unmistakably Kanonkop. This Stellenbosch Cape Blend bursts with ripe cherries, cassis, juicy black plums, and a touch of baking spice. On the nose, hints of cinnamon, allspice, and dark chocolate add complexity, while the palate delivers vibrant summer berry fruit wrapped in fine, silky tannins. A savoury thread weaves through the long finish, offering depth and drinkability. Perfect for casual evenings or paired with hearty meals, this is classic Cape heritage in a bottle.
A cooler, later vintage brought slow ripening and intense flavor. We fermented in open-top concrete tanks, gently punching down every two hours to build structure and extract color. After 3–5 days on skins and full malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months in seasoned French oak barrels, gaining depth, polish, and signature Stellenbosch character.
