Description

The Beyerskloof Traildust Cape Blend 2024 is a vibrant, Pinotage-led blend that pays tribute to the journey of South Africa’s most iconic grape. Inspired by the idea that “Traildust is thicker than blood,” this wine brings together Pinotage with its heritage varieties, Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, in a style that is both expressive and approachable.

In the glass, the wine shows a bright ruby-red color, opening with generous aromas of red cherry, plum, and ripe red berries, complemented by subtle hints of sweet spice and oak. On the palate, it is juicy and well-balanced, with a lively mid-palate supported by soft, rounded tannins. The fruit remains bright and forward, leading to a smooth, slightly sweet-fruited finish that enhances its easy-drinking appeal.

This is a versatile, food-friendly red that pairs beautifully with Moroccan lamb, Thai curries, mushroom dishes, and casual meals. Best served slightly chilled at around 14°C.
The grapes were harvested from well-established vineyards, including bush vines for Pinotage and Cinsaut and trellised Pinot Noir. Following harvest, the fruit was fermented under controlled conditions, with careful extraction to preserve fruit purity and soft tannin structure.

The wine underwent malolactic fermentation before a period of maturation to integrate flavors and texture, resulting in a balanced and approachable Cape Blend that highlights freshness and varietal harmony.
