Description

Crafted as a tribute to the estate’s distinctive red clay soils, the 2021 Waterford Antigo is a plush and polished Helderberg red blend. Fragrant notes of red currants, subtle tobacco, and creamy oak sweetness rise from the glass, leading to a palate that’s generous yet elegantly structured. Cabernet Sauvignon’s signature freshness provides lift and balance, while gentle tannins support the ripe red fruit core, finishing with a long, textured grace. Perfect for hearty meals, this wine pairs beautifully with rich casseroles or a slow-roasted leg of lamb—its plush fruit and layered complexity enhancing every savory bite.
Grown in red clay soils on Waterford’s eastern slopes, our Cabernet thrives in plush, fruit-forward elegance. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently destemmed, and whole-berry fermented for 18 days to preserve purity. Post-pressing, the wine matures in select French oak, with careful rackings to perfect integration. Despite 2021’s heat and rainfall, precise harvest timing ensured vibrant ripeness, refined structure, and balance.
