The wine holds a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe berries. Along with the scent of pencil shavings, this red blend is packed with a mixture of red and blackberries.
The palate is flavors of ripe red cherries with a spicy undertone. It has delicate notes of oak, pencil shavings, cassis, and red fruits. The tannins are gripping on the mid-palate with lingering ripe fruit and a balanced aftertaste.

Small French Oak barrel maturation for 12 months. Further ageing took place in bottle for 24 months prior to release. This wine will age well over the next 15+ years.

Normandie Est. 1693 is one of the original twenty nine French Huguenot-settled farms in the Franschhoek region of the Cape Winelands. The privileged location on the mid slopes of the majestic Groot Drakenstein Mountain peak is twenty-eight kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean.
