Description

The Mont Rochelle Chardonnay 2025 is a refined, terroir-driven expression of Franschhoek, crafted in a style that leans toward European elegance while retaining the vibrancy of South African fruit.

In the glass, the wine shows a pale straw color with soft golden hues. The nose is expressive yet poised, revealing aromas of white pear, lemon curd, and pineapple, layered with subtle citrus lift. On the palate, the wine is fresh and structured, with notes of citrus and stone fruit carried by a bright, linear acidity. A gently integrated oak component adds texture without overpowering the fruit, resulting in a Chardonnay that is both precise and balanced. The finish is long, clean, and lingering, with a refreshing, mineral edge.

Sourced from the estate’s original Chardonnay vineyard planted in 1994, this wine reflects both heritage and site, delivering a true expression of Mont Rochelle’s unique terroir.

A versatile and food-friendly Chardonnay, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, roast chicken, creamy dishes, and soft cheeses.
The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness from established estate vineyards, ensuring concentration and balance. Fermentation took place with a focus on preserving fruit purity while integrating subtle oak influence, contributing texture and complexity. A portion of the wine was matured on its lees to enhance mouthfeel, while careful oak handling ensured the final wine remained fresh, structured, and terroir-driven.
