Description

This vibrant red blend opens with a bouquet of purple flowers, violets, and rose petals, exuding elegance and charm. Mourvèdre contributes savory undertones, beautifully complemented by subtle background spices.

The palate reveals a harmonious balance, with light oak imparting gentle complexity and fine tannins providing a soft, approachable texture. Designed to be enjoyed early, this wine offers a refined yet accessible experience, perfect for pairing with roasted meats or Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
The Shiraz fermented and aged in 10% new French oak and the balance in older barrels for 10 months. The Grenache sees 10% whole bunch fermentation aged in aged in stainless steel tanks and old French oak barrels to respect the fruit.

Winemaker: Wikus Pretorius
Situated on the side of the majestic Middagkrans Mountains of the magnificent Franschhoek Valley, the west-facing La Petite Ferme is one of the more intimate wineries in the Cape Winelands. More than 300 years ago, when the Huguenots arrived, they brought with them their age-old French wine and food culture (Many of them were given land by the Dutch government in a valley called Oliphantshoek - Elephant Corner - so named because of the vast herds of elephants that roamed the area).

Soon after they settled here, it became known as Franschhoek (French Corner). Most of the wineries in Franschhoek still have their original French names and the homesteads are all Cape Dutch with gorgeous Oaks and luscious vineyards. These amazing vineyards that cover these mountain slopes boast a valley rich in history and are centered on a picturesque village of warm and friendly people.
