Description

The Haute Cabrière Haute Collection Pinot Noir 2023 is a rare, single-vineyard expression from a tiny 0.8-hectare triangular block in Franschhoek. Planted at high density, this site produces small berries with remarkable concentration, resulting in a Pinot Noir that balances elegance with depth.

The nose is lifted and refined, showing red cherry and plum, layered with subtle earthy undertones and gentle spice. On the palate, the wine is structured yet poised, with fine tannins supporting a core of bright red fruit. The texture is seamless, with a natural intensity that comes from the low-yielding vineyard, leading to a long, composed finish that evolves beautifully in the glass.

This is a more serious, age-worthy Pinot Noir that pairs effortlessly with duck, mushroom dishes, roast chicken, and fine cuisine.
The grapes were sourced from a high-density planted single vineyard (1m x 1m spacing), encouraging low yields and concentrated fruit. Following careful vinification, the wine was matured for approximately 12 months in new French oak barrels, providing structure and enhancing aging potential while supporting the expression of the vintage and site.

Winemaker: Takuan von Arnim
