Description

With an enticing bouquet of elderflower, passion fruit, cassis, papaya, and a hint of kumquat, this wine showcases a refined, mineral-driven character. The cool coastal climate and Atlantic breezes contribute a crisp, refreshing acidity that balances the aromatic fruit profile, favoring a bright minerality over overt ripeness.

On the palate, the vibrant fruity notes from the nose carry through, uplifted by a zesty hint of lemon, which adds an extra layer of liveliness. Extended lees contact enriches the texture, imparting a subtle creaminess that adds depth and rounds out the crisp finish. This well-structured wine is both elegant and invigorating, with a lasting impression of purity and sophistication.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel tanks with a further 3 months on the fine lees.

Winemaker: Carolyn Martin
Viticulturist: Jean-Claude Martin
When in 2002 Jean-Claude (JC) and Carolyn Martin took up the challenge of establishing a winery in a remote corner of the Walker Bay Wine Region, they did so with the courage of their conviction.

The 40 hectares of undulating land on the lofty Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge had never been planted to vines before, but recognizing the vast potential, they set out with tenacity and determination to transform it into a model wine farm.

No easy feat, but then the Swiss-born JC and South African-born Carolyn (née Finlayson) both come from wine pioneering stock spanning at least three generations and two continents!
