Description
The L'Ormarins Die Ou Bosstok 2025 is a beautifully expressive old-vine Cinsault from the slopes of Kasteelberg in Riebeeksrivier. Sourced from bush vines planted in 1990, this limited-production wine captures the vibrant fruit, charm, and effortless drinkability that have made Cinsault one of South Africa's most exciting varieties, while adding the depth and structure that old vines naturally provide.
The nose opens with inviting aromas of ripe cherry, blueberry, and subtle baking spice, complemented by delicate hints of oak. On the palate, the wine is juicy, succulent, and beautifully rounded, revealing layers of youngberry, raspberry, cherry, and plum. Gentle tannins and a composed structure provide balance, allowing the wine's generous fruit to shine without becoming overly simple. Fresh, vibrant, and remarkably elegant, it finishes with impressive length and a lively sense of energy.
The 2025 growing season benefited from healthy winter rainfall, moderate weather during berry development, and cool, dry harvest conditions. These ideal conditions resulted in grapes with excellent natural acidity, concentrated flavor, and outstanding overall quality, perfectly suited to this elegant expression of Cinsault.
A wonderfully versatile red that pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled pork, duck, mushroom dishes, and Mediterranean cuisine.

The wine was fermented in Italian Nico Velo concrete tanks, a fermentation vessel chosen to preserve purity while enhancing texture and emphasizing Cinsault's naturally vibrant red fruit character. Following fermentation, the wine remained on its malolactic lees for approximately four months before being transferred to stainless steel tanks. A small portion was matured in oak barrels for four months, with only 1% new French oak used to maintain freshness and varietal expression.
