Description

Made entirely from Cabernet Franc, Delaire Graff's 2025 Rosé is a beautifully polished expression of the variety, combining generous fruit with the freshness and structure that make dry rosé so compelling at the table. The fruit is drawn from selected Stellenbosch vineyards on the Helshoogte and Helderberg Mountain, bringing together ripe fruit character and naturally refreshing acidity.

Delicate pink in the glass, it opens with freshly crushed berries, ripe strawberry, cassis, and a playful touch of cotton candy, lifted by a subtle minty note. The palate has more texture than its pale color might suggest, with juicy red fruit, crisp acidity, and a gently spicy edge carrying into a clean, dry finish.

This is an especially versatile rosé with food. Serve it well chilled with grilled prawns, seared tuna, Niçoise salad, shellfish, chicken salad, Mediterranean vegetables, or steak tartare. Its combination of fruit, acidity, and texture gives it enough presence for the table while remaining wonderfully refreshing on its own.
The Cabernet Franc grapes are hand-harvested during the cool morning hours to retain freshness. After careful selection, the fruit is gently pressed before the juice is settled and fermented with selected yeast chosen to emphasize Cabernet Franc's distinctive aromatic character.

Following fermentation, the wine remains on its fine lees with regular stirring, adding texture and weight without sacrificing freshness. A small component of barrel-fermented rosé is then blended into the final wine, bringing additional depth and complexity while allowing its vibrant fruit and crisp acidity to remain at the forefront.

Winemaker: Morné Vrey
Perched high on the slopes of the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch, Delaire Graff Estate occupies one of the Cape Winelands' most dramatic vineyard settings. Mountain elevation and cooling influences help the estate produce wines that balance ripe Stellenbosch fruit with freshness and precision.

The estate was acquired by Laurence Graff in 2003 and subsequently transformed into a destination combining wine, art, hospitality, and gastronomy. Under winemaker Morné Vrey, the wine program spans everything from fresh, varietally expressive releases such as this Cabernet Franc Rosé to serious, cellar-worthy Stellenbosch reds.
